Ravens Clinch AFC North Title with Commanding 35-10 Win Over Browns
For the second consecutive year, the Baltimore Ravens reign as AFC North champions, securing the division title with a dominant 35-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns. The win solidifies Baltimore's place in the postseason, with the team set to host an NFL Wild Card game at M&T Bank Stadium next week.
Despite being battered by injuries and starting their fourth quarterback of the season, the Browns showed heart and determination. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome a Ravens squad firing on all cylinders. Baltimore excelled on both sides of the ball, with standout performances highlighting their depth and dominance.
Record-Breaking Offense
Quarterback Lamar Jackson added another historic achievement to his résumé, becoming the first player in NFL history to pass for 4,000 yards and rush for 900 yards in a single season. Jackson capped off his remarkable year with 41 touchdown passes to just four interceptions, setting a record for the fewest picks by a quarterback with 40 or more touchdowns.
Running back Derrick Henry continued his stellar campaign, breaking Jamal Lewis’ Ravens franchise record with his 15th rushing touchdown. Henry also racked up 138 rushing yards and two touchdowns, further cementing his record-setting season. Wide receiver Rashod Bateman stepped up in Zay Flowers’ absence, finishing with 76 receiving yards and a touchdown, while tight end Mark Andrews delivered key catches, including a first-half touchdown.
Dominant DefenseBaltimore’s defense made its presence felt early and often. Linebacker Kyle Van Noy added to his team-leading sack total, finishing the season with 12.5. Odafe Oweh also hit a milestone, recording a career-high tenth sack. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins made an electrifying play with a pick-six on the Browns’ second drive, while defensive lineman Michael Pierce sealed the victory with a late-game interception.
Injury ConcernsWhile the victory was decisive, the Ravens face some injury concerns heading into the playoffs. Wide receiver Zay Flowers exited in the second quarter with a knee injury and did not return. Safety Kyle Hamilton appeared to sustain both a hand injury and a stinger but returned to action after each incident. The severity of Flowers' injury remains unknown, leaving his status for next week in question.
Looking AheadThe Ravens will await the results of the remaining Week 18 games to determine their Wild Card opponent. With momentum on their side and home-field advantage in the first round, Baltimore will look to carry their dominance into the postseason.
