Miami Hurricanes Rally from 25-Point Deficit to Edge California, 39-38

In a thrilling comeback, the Miami Hurricanes remained unbeaten by overcoming a 25-point second-half deficit to defeat California, 39-38. Quarterback Cam Ward shone in the fourth quarter, leading Miami to score the final 21 points and connecting with Elijah Arroyo for a game-winning touchdown with just 26 seconds left on the clock.

"Nobody played their best ball, so we just can't put ourselves in these situations," Ward said. Despite early struggles, including a pick-six that allowed Cal to lead 28-10, Ward completed 35 of 53 passes for 437 yards and rushed for a touchdown, demonstrating resilience throughout the game.

Miami’s victory marks its largest comeback since 1999 and the most significant in FBS this season. Coach Mario Cristobal expressed unwavering faith in Ward, highlighting the team’s ability to bounce back from adversity.

Meanwhile, California’s coach Justin Wilcox described the locker room atmosphere as "as bad as you can imagine," reflecting on missed opportunities. A critical officiating decision in the final minutes, which upheld a call against Cal, further impacted the game’s outcome.

With this win, Miami improved to 6-0, while California fell to 3-2, suffering a bitter disappointment after hosting ESPN's "College GameDay."
