Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane Star as Al-Nassr Dominates Al-Orobah to Keep Unbeaten Streak Alive in Saudi Pro League

Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane lit up Al-Awwal Park on Saturday evening, leading Al-Nassr to a commanding 3-0 victory over Al-Orobah, maintaining their unbeaten start to the Saudi Pro League season.

Ronaldo opened the scoring with a penalty after a handball by Jean Michael Seri, expertly sending the keeper the wrong way. The Portuguese superstar then turned playmaker, assisting Mane just before the half-hour mark. Mane capitalized on a tight angle to net his first league goal of the season, showcasing his finishing skills.

Al-Nassr controlled the match throughout, although Al-Orobah had a moment of hope in the 64th minute when they believed they’d won a penalty after Aymeric Laporte was booked for a high boot on Emmanuel Boateng. However, VAR intervened, confirming that Laporte had played the ball cleanly, extinguishing Al-Orobah’s chances.

The home side kept pressing and secured their third goal in the 71st minute as Mane found the net again, this time with a deft first-time finish from an inch-perfect cross by Abdullah Al-Khaibari. As the match drew to a close, Ronaldo, Mane, and Marcelo Brozovic were substituted to applause from the crowd, their roles in the match well-acknowledged.

Mane was the standout performer, reminiscent of his early Liverpool days with his dynamic runs and sharp finishes, proving he still possesses the ability to shine at the highest levels. Al-Orobah struggled to maintain their defensive organization under Al-Nassr’s relentless pressure, leaving them vulnerable to counterattacks.

Despite making tactical changes in an effort to turn the tide, Al-Orobah’s fate was sealed by the time they conceded the third goal. Following this resounding win, Ronaldo will travel to Lisbon to join the Portugal national team for upcoming Nations League matches against Poland and Scotland. He will return to Al-Nassr for their next league fixture against Al-Shabab on October 18.
